Little Friends
Ants, ants, everywhere,
no matter where you go,
God made you, and so the ant,
just why, you'll never know.
When you awake at dawn
there's an ant upon your bed,
and when you start to make your toast
there's an ant upon your bread.
You go to wash and brush your teeth
just like you always do,
but in your sink you'll always find
at least one ant or two.
It's off to school at six o'clock
you've a busy day ahead,
but somehow you think it would be best
if you just stayed in bed,
for certainly you know you'll find
when you unlatch the door,
at least two thousand little red ants
crawling on the floor.
Walk carefully across the isle
just like you've always done,
for had there been one little mistake
today you might be one.
You wonder just how it would be
to be an ant instead,
it might not be so awfully bad
except you might be red.
Ants, ants, everywhere,
no matter where you go.
God made you, and so the ant,
just why, you'll never know.
