The page is dedicated to Alyssa, the CFLsurf Surfer Girl of the Month for August 2008. Alyssa is a real surfer girl from the freezing cold waters of Rhode Island. I ran into Alyssa on the beach in Nosara, Costa Rica, in July of 2008. She noticed my CFLsurf.com tee shirt and told me the reason she came to Nosara was because she read all the articles about it on my web site. When she asked what the requirements to be a Surfer Girl of the month were, I told her: 1) you have to surf (or at least own a surfboard, and 2) your grand-mother has to think you are cute. Other than that, it helps tremendously if you show up at the same place I do when I have my camera. She smiled, and I shot lots of pics. These are some of the best shots.

Alyssa surfs regularly in Rhode Island, and ventures south to Florida and Costa Rica to escape the cold water. I'll convince her to visit Cocoa Beach next time she heads south.
